My weird choice for breakfast in the winter

SEND LOVE, NOT WORRY OUT INTO THE WORLD-2

I don't know about you but it sure can be a little more challenging to eat veggies for breakfast in the winter.

In the summer, no problem. I love doing veggie smoothies - a little spinach, a little celery, and a little cucumber with protein powder, Greens First, and some avocado and I'm good to go!

Winter, on the other hand, required more creative thinking especially because I can't eat a lot of eggs or I will get hives. So instead of saying "This won't work for me" I decided to brainstorm, "How can this work for me?"

It wasn't too long before my brain came up with the answer...see our brains love to problem solve...so I decided to have it work for me, not against me.

Soup. My brain's creative solution was soup. I love soup!

It is warm in the winter unlike a cold veggie smoothie, I can have all different kinds, and usually soup is leftover from dinner so all I had to do was warm it up. Problem solved.

Is there something that you know you should be doing to improve your health but have heard yourself saying, "that won't work for me" ? Try asking yourself a different question. You just might get a better answer.

Thanks Anna!

Melissa Joulwin who wrote Wellfed recommends soup a lot. During my Whole 30 ( see It Starts with Food). I ate a lot of soup with tuna or crab cakes for protein. A nice change from smoothies. Susanne

I did the GAPS cleanse, required I make one monster batch of chicken soup to sustain myself along with some other great foods. I tried putting some shredded cabbage in my breakfast bowl, then ladled hot soup over it…tres yummois! It added a nice sweet crunch.
