Heal adrenal fatigue naturally

Author: Dr. Michelle Durkin on 18 October 2016

Have you ever experienced chronic tiredness (even first thing in the morning), trouble falling (or staying) asleep, or difficulty concentrating? If so, you may have come across the term adrenal fatigue.

Not a proven medical condition, adrenal fatigue refers to a collection of symptoms thought to be caused by poorly working adrenal glands in response to chronic mental, emotional, or physical stress.

In a previous Eat Real Food TV episode, I explained that adrenal fatigue can often underpin many thyroid conditions.

The best part? It's reversible.

Find out what everyday choices you can make to help your adrenal and thyroid glands work the best they can.

Now I would love to hear from you. Do you have symptoms of adrenal fatigue? If so, what's one thing you'll begin to change in your daily routine? Leave a comment below and I'll see you next week on Doctor as Teacher Tuesday.

Michelle,
In terms of helping the adrenals, what would you suggest as #1 food into your body. And #1 food out of your body . Thanks, Betty

Hi Betty!
Great question. The number one food to remove would be sugar. By far, it will be the one that damages the adrenals the most. The number one food to add just might be kale. Think about any of our vegetables that get marketed as superfoods. The more intense the colour of our veggies and fruits the more phytonutrients they contain. It’s these phytonutrients that benefit our adrenals the most. For extra insurance I use a greens powder during the work week. The one I is called Greens First but there are many on the market that are similar.

thanks so much for the great info… it is a super bonus to your stress busters seminar. I need to say “no” but I have way to many interests that I so enjoy & don’t want to miss out on anything… but something might break if I don’t make some life style changes. Jane

Thanks Jane! So many people have FOMO – fear of missing out. The question to ask yourself is, which interests really contribute to my zone of genius versus my zone of competence? Become a specialist instead of a generalist.
