Smoothies are one of my go-to breakfasts that are quick and easy especially when I'm in a rush to get out the door. Over the years I've reduced the amount of fruit that I use and increased the amount of good fat and protein. By doing so it has really improved my blood sugar balance and instead of getting hungry at 10 am and needing a snack, or part of my lunch, I don't get hungry until 1pm.
They are also one of my weight management secrets because they make it easy and convenient to add medical foods.
This includes Ultra Meal 360 (for weight loss, insulin resistance & high cholesterol), Ultra Glucose Control (for sugar cravings and weight loss), SynerClear or UltraInflamX360 (for leaky gut syndrome, digestive conditions and weight loss), or Ultra Clear Renew (for fibromyalgia, detoxification and weight loss).
So if you have been prescribed a medical food OR you just want to start using smoothies for an easy go-to breakfast like me, here are five easy and tasty ones I think you should try:
Iced Coffee Protein Shake
Cocoa Almond Smoothie
Blueberry Nut Smoothie
Dr. Kelly Brogan's Brain Smoothie
Apple & Cinnamon Smoothie

Im wandering ab out your opinion on the ketogenic diet is it just another fad diet and is it safe
Hi Craig,
It depends on the person. I would not prescribe a ketogenic diet for someone without doing an initial consultation.
What about coconut milk instead of almond milk in the coffee smoothie?
That would also work Laurraine 🙂
Any suggestions for the chocolate orange inflamax-i tried it wish cashew milk and it tastes very powdery. Not sure what else to add with those flavours?
I would try adding it any of the smoothies listed in this post.
