Have you been missing your Doctor as Teacher Tuesday episodes? Well no need to worry...school is just around the corner so I'm baaaaack!
One concern that comes up for parents at this time of year is what to pack in their kid's lunch. You want it to be healthy but convenience tends to be the factor that wins out more often than it should.
Check out this video from my friend Carolyn from the Eat Real Food Academy and her son Trevor to get some ideas for a healthy lunch for your kids this coming school year. After the video you can check out some of the changes that I would make to keep it dairy-free and to avoid the processed meat.

Here are some of the changes I would suggest:
You can buy the beet and sweet potato crackers at Costco and look for the recipe for the protein popper in an upcoming episode of Doctor as Teacher Tuesday. I have to say, they are not just for kids...husband's love them too 🙂
Now I would love to hear from you! What is one go-to that you have for a healthy school lunch? Leave a comment below and I'll be back next week with another episode of Doctor as Teacher Tuesday.

That is a great lunch idea, although I do prefer your substitutions. Can you tell me how you prepare your homemade meatballs? I need something that is gluten-free, but still tastes amazing. Thank you!
I felt inspired and grateful for the school snack suggestions.
Not for my kids,.. for me!
I’m 79 with many food sensitivities and struggling to eat sensibly
Thank you.
Hi Patricia!
Any paleo meatball recipe would work because any of them would be gluten-free. I made mine with ground turkey.
Whats a protein popper?
Hi Linda!
You will get a recipe for Protein Poppers this week on Doctor as Teacher Tuesday so stay tuned.
Glad I can help Patricia!
