A couple of months ago I did a Facebook live video on Gluten, Celiac disease, Non-celiac gluten sensitivity because so many people are confused when it comes to gluten.
So today I wanted to give you a brief synopsis on what mistakes to avoid when it comes to going gluten-free. Check out my video below!

Now I would love to hear from you! What is one tip you can share about going gluten-free? Leave a comment below and I'll be back next week with another edition of Doctor as Teacher Tuesday!

Excellent info. My husband has gluten sensitivity and I’m going to get him to take a look at this video.

Thanks Karen!
I am actually really disappointed that there was no mention at all of rice and corn gluten. It just adds to the misnomer of the gluten free panacea that has become so poplular. My husband is allergic to rice gluten and the current preoccupation with “gluten free” for all practical purposes translates into “replace wheat with rice”.
Hi Roberta,
There is actually no gluten in rice. Your husband is either getting a cross-reaction where the rice has been contaminated with gluten OR he is reacting to the rice protein itself. That is why I recommend staying away from gluten-free products made out of rice or corn flours and just eating real food.
Please see the following for reference: https://www.beyondceliac.org/gluten-free-diet/is-it-gluten-free/rice/ for a full discussion on gluten-free grains.
Hi Michelle: Is it true that the bread and pasta in European countries is different than in Canada and is more digestible? That does not contain the chemical and over processing.
Correct Rhonda.
