Crock pots recipes are great to have on hand especially if you are a busy mom who works full-time and rushes home to make a great meal for her family. Here's one of my favourites, Bacon-Wrapped Chicken. I have made this one a few times for pot-lucks and family gatherings and no one is disappointed. Convenience and taste is a winning combination.
Tools:
6 qt crockpot and a handful toothpicks
Ingredients:
4 chicken breasts
8 slices bacon
1/2-3/4 cup BBQ Sauce juice of one lemon
2 apples, peeled and grated
Preparation:
1. Using toothpicks, wrap two slices of bacon around each chicken breast. Place wrapped chicken on the bottom of the crockpot. They may overlap which is ok.
2. Mix BBQ sauce, lemon juice and grated apples together in a bowl. Pour over chicken, taking care to cover each breast as best you can.
3. Cook on LOW for 8 hours.
Now I would love to hear from you. What is your favourite crock-pot recipe? What tips do you have to help keep your family healthy when time is of the essence? Leave your comment now and I'll be back next week with Doctor as Teacher Tuesday.
